Time Warp Weekend: September 15th – 17th
Gather your team and join us September 15th-17th to make a movie in
JUST ONE WEEKEND
Time Warp Weekend is a 48-hour filmmaking challenge in which competitors are tasked with creating a short film within the specified time frame, as well as adhering to a specific prompt. Examples of prompts might be use of sound effects, visual tropes, plot points, or perhaps lines of dialogue. What ever form these prompts take, the final film MUST incorporate them. At the end of the 48 hours, teams will be asked to submit their films for review and to be put in the Final Screening. At the final screening, we will watch everyone’s films and give awards!
Prompts will be revealed September 15th at 4:00pm in MacLean 1307
Theme: Campy Sci-Fi
(Note: this is NOT the prompt, just the general theme of the event.)
There will be awards given for:
BEST SPECIAL EFFECTS, WORST SPECIAL EFFECTS, CAMPIEST ACTOR, and BEST ORIGINAL MUSIC
Arrive to the meeting early to meet your rivals, make new friends, and form a team! Anyone is welcome to compete, whether you’re a student, faculty, or staff member. We encourage working in teams, but you are welcome to take the challenge to go solo! We hope to see everyone there!
The Final Screening & Award Ceremony will be held on September 22nd at 4:00pm in MacLean 1307
